Course Description This course is specifically designed for students from the state of California. This course is designed to lead students through a comprehensive exploration of the American system of government. The curriculum significantly emphasizes key elements, starting with the origins of government and the influence of the English Bill of Rights. Students will learn of the founding of the original thirteen colonies, pivotal events such as the Proclamation of 1763 and the First Continental Congress, and the challenges the Articles of Confederation posed. The course navigates through the origin and principles of the Constitution, the significance of the Bill of Rights, and an in-depth examination of executive, legislative, and judicial powers. Specific attention is given to the U.S. Senate, impeachment processes, the legislative journey of bills, and the functions of the U.S. House of Representatives. Further exploration extends to the President, the intricacies of the Presidential Cabinet, and the electoral processes. Throughout the course, students will be guided to recognize historical examples where the United States government has evolved into its present-day form while maintaining the foundational principles established by the Founding Fathers. PARTIAL COURSES - A partial version of an online course intended for students temporarily away from classes (i.e. Home Bound Instruction, In/Out-of School Suspension). - Partial courses must be completed by your school's end date Format -Delivery : This is a virtual course delivered entirely by an established education organization, including a virtual instructor, to students and educators.
