Course Description This course is specifically designed for students from the state of California. US History II offers a chronological exploration of American history from the Industrial Revolution to the contemporary era. The course explores pivotal events, including Western Expansion, the Second Industrial Revolution, the Populist and Progressive Movement, the Spanish-American War, World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam, Watergate, Reaganomics, Desert Storm I, 9/11, and the 2000 and 2008 presidential elections. In its final segments, the course critically examines the modern United States, addressing its evolving role on the global stage and its impact on domestic culture. Students engage with the intricate tapestry of historical narratives that have shaped the nation, fostering a nuanced understanding of America's journey from the Industrial Revolution to the complexities of the present day.
