Course Description The objective of the Child Day Care Management program is to provide the student with a solid background in child day care, including in-home, family-operated, and day care center environments. Upon completion of the program, the student will be prepared to plan, organize, administer, and operate a child day care business as the owner/operator. The program could also be valuable for gaining employment in a day care center depending upon the state's educational requirements for staff. The program covers such topics as the following: child growth and development; starting and operating your own facility; licensing, accreditation, and certification; program planning and implementation; computers in day care; guidance principles; health, safety, and nutrition; and after school programs.
