Course Description
This course guides students through a series of lessons that focus on the American system of government. An emphasis is placed on the origin of government, the English Bill of Rights, the founding of the original thirteen colonies, the Proclamation of 1763, the First Continental Congress, the Articles of Confederation, the origin and principles of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, executive, legislative, and judicial powers, the U.S. Senate, impeachment, how a bill becomes a law, the U.S. House of Representatives, the President, the Presidential Cabinet, and elections.

This course is designed specifically for students from the state of Maryland.
