Course Description
This course is designed for students who are interested in attaining a well-rounded perspective in American government and culture. The course will provide students with an introductory foundation in the major aspects of U.S. government, as well as supporting learning about important issues and topics relevant to modern life in the U.S.

This course is intended for English Language Learners at ESL Level 2 and above. The course will help prepare students outside of, or new to, the United States for participation in American society and further studies in the U.S. education system.

Course activities will include worksheets, group discussion, short answer responses and student projects. While significant content will be included as part of this course, a major focus will be on stimulating an interest and passion in the subject of U.S. government and culture, with the idea of becoming an educated and involved civic citizen in an increasingly complex world.
