Course Description
This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as lifelong learners. In American Literature students will read various literary classics such as, The Red Badge of Courage, The Last of the Mohicans, Moby Dick and The House of Seven Gables. Students will respond to each novel by writing expository or persuasive. All essays are graded using the holistic scoring rubric. In addition to this, students will review sentence structure and punctuation in order to strengthen their writing.
