Course Description
Language Arts I MS puts a strong emphasis on vocabulary and reading skills. The course provides students with various reading strategies such as how to break down new vocabulary words as well as how to use a dictionary and a thesaurus. Students will also write a variety of essays spanning numerous genres including persuasive, narrative, autobiography, and news paper writing. All essays will be graded using the Holistic scoring rubric.
