Course Description
This course is designed to give students a better understanding of United States history from 1754 to 1877. Students will study the major topics and themes that surround this time period and walk away from the course with a deeper understanding of early United States History. As part of this course, students will also be analyzing various primary and secondary sources that relate to each of the topics being studied.

The themes that this course will focus on are Revolution, Equality, and Compromise. Students will have to assess how these ideas run through and relate them to people and events.

Students will also be engaged in multiple discussions, various assignments that use Web 2.0 tools, and they will complete a semester long group collaboration project.

By the end of the course student will be able to:

Ã‚Â· Create and defend opinions grounded in historical research
