Course Description This is an honors level course that challenges students with capstone analysis, evaluation, and creativity. Students are required to complete honors capstone assignments in each semester of the course, involving research, creation, and/or the extensive use of multimedia. Students continue their exploration of the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures through more in-depth lessons and participation in forum discussions while improving their comprehension skills in both oral and written form, expanding their ability to interpret the language. Vocabulary topics explored include: school life, future goals, home life and family relationships, items in the home, health/health issues, healthy habits, giving advice, travel arrangements, free time activities and cooking. Grammar topics include: a review of preterit and imperfect tenses, the conditional and future tenses, comparatives, superlatives, impersonal "se", pluperfect tense, the imperative (affirmative and negative commands), the subjunctive mood, perfect tense, and phrases of obligation and necessity. Students will explore various Spanish-speaking countries through learning about products, practices, and perspectives that can be seen in various Spanish-speaking countries. This course is presented in Spanish. Prerequisites Spanish III Course Materials Students must have access to a microphone. A headset is recommended. Spanish-English dictionary is recommended but not required. Format Delivery : This is a virtual course delivered entirely by an established education organization, including a virtual instructor, to students and educators.
