Course Description
This course covers macro- and micro-economics as well as the history of economic theory. This course will help students achieve a knowledge base in economics that includes a history of economic theory. Students are challenged to form and support their opinions on topics such as governmental roles, the importance of apportioning tax revenue, and trading in the global marketplace. Students will also investigate key concepts associated with personal finance. These concepts are necessary for all students to be successful now and throughout their adult lives. The course configuration helps students develop into wise and knowledgeable consumers, savers, decision-makers, and money managers. Lesson topics include but are not limited to, Money and Banking, Investing, Retirement, Being a Critical Consumer, and Insurance. Students will also have the chance to evaluate their future by examining their own Employment and Career Readiness status.
