Course Description The objective of the Drafting with AutoCAD program is to provide the student with the necessary skills for entry into the field of computer-aided drafting using the AutoCAD software package. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to create mechanical and architectural drawings using AutoCAD software. Students will learn how to display, annotate and make modifications to drawings created using AutoCAD. A secondary program goal is to provide students with the knowledge and ability to pass the AutoCAD Level 1 Certification Examination. Topics covered include: size and shape description; introduction to CADD; basic drafting math; common drafting equipment; orthographic projection; geometric construction; dimensioning; sections, revolutions, and conventional breaks; geometric tolerancing; working and pictorial drawings; Windows 95/98; AutoCAD Release; structural drafting; HVAC/sheet metal drafting; and electrical and electronic schematic drafting.
