Course Description
The objective of the Electronics program is to provide course materials that will enable a student to learn the basic concepts of analog electronics. These skills can be used to gain entry- level employment in the electronics manufacturing or repair industry. The student learns basic DC and AC theory and component theory and applications. Basic circuit design and theory and component usage are also key components of the program. Topics covered include: conductors, insulators, and batteries; circuit analysis and Ohm's Law; multimeter usage; measuring instruments; switching devices; capacitors and inductors; semiconductor components; transformers; amplifiers; oscillators; fiber-optic and optoelectronic components; electronic sensors; using basic oscilloscopes; electronic devices and amplifiers; audio and RF circuits; oscillator and feedback waveforms; and electronic power supplies.

The completion of a certificate-level program does not typically qualify a student for employment. Completion of this program may assist students who have previous academic or work related experience improve their chances for promotion or entry-level employment.
