Course Description
This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of fundamental concepts and their applications while reinforcing and developing skills essential for continued success as lifelong learners. Students continue their exploration of the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures through more in-depth lessons and participation in forum discussions while improving their comprehension skills in both oral and written form as well as expanding their ability to interpret the language. Vocabulary topics explored include: health and body, clothing, tourism, types of transportation, places to go with friends, TV programs, personality descriptions, chores, forms of communication, professions, and environmental concerns. Grammar topics include: preterit tense, imperfect tense, using both preterit and imperfect tense, relative pronouns, making comparisons, using verbs “ser" and "estar”, imperative statements, future tense, and the conditional tense, using formal and informal language.


Students will explore various Spanish-speaking countries through learning about products, practices, and perspectives that can be seen in various Spanish-speaking countries.

- Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 9 months
- 1/2 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 4 months
- 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 2 months

ABBREVIATED COURSES - A shortened course intended for students seeking to recover credits or make-up failed courses during the regular school year or over the summer.
- Abbreviated Full Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 60 days.
- Abbreviated 1/2 and 1/4 Credit Equivalent courses must be completed by your school's end date and within 30 days.

PARTIAL COURSES - A partial version of an online course intended for students temporarily away from classes (i.e. Home Bound Instruction, In/Out-of School Suspension).
- Partial courses must be completed by your school's end date
