Course Description This semester course is designed for students interested in an introduction to college mathematics. The course will cover topics including a review of core pre-calculus topics, limits and continuity, derivatives and applications of derivatives. Students will make connections among these topics as well as solve real-life applications. An emphasis will be placed on mathematical vocabulary and explanations of solutions in writing. Students are required to have a TI-83/84 graphing calculator.
Delivery Method Prerequisites Prior to taking this course, students should have completed courses that explore topics in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and elementary functions. Students should be familiar with the properties of these elementary functions, which include linear, polynomial, rational, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric, and piecewise-defined functions. Course Materials Students are required to have a TI-83/84 graphing calculator. |
