* Prospective NCAA Division I and II student-athletes should visit the NCAA Eligibility Center website (www.eligibilitycenter.org) and seek the NCAA's acceptance of a particular Education Provider's virtual course prior to registration.
Students who enjoy working on the computer, creating characters, writing stories, or playing games will all find a fun opportunity with Scratch. Scratch is a free visual programming language that helps students create interactive digital stories, animations, and games. It’s simple to use, and it gives students a rich environment in which to learn some basic computational programming skills.
In this course, students will begin by programming simple shapes to move and interact with each other. Then, they will learn how to add sound effects and music to their project. Soon, each student will have a full portfolio of their own art, stories, and games. The class will even have an “interactive dance party!â€Â
Students will spend time every week working on ideas in an online design journal, and they will provide creative and technical feedback to each other through discussions and group activities.
This course requires a final proctored exam.
