Course Description
This course is designed to give students a deeper understanding of the civilizations from prehistory through c. 1500. By understanding what shaped civilizations and how they interacted with each other, students will predict how civilizations of the modern age interacted and responded to challenges. Throughout this course, an examination of various components of each civilization will include: social, political, interactions, culture, and economy (SPICE). Writing skills will be developed through a variety of prompts and styles.



Essential Questions:

What are the essential features that define and shape civilizations?

What unites different groups within a civilization?

What are the consequences or effects when civilizations interact with each other?
