Course Description This course is designed to introduce students to advance coding applications and methodologies. A Certificate in Advanced Medical Coding will verify that you have been formally trained to utilize CPT and ICD-9-CM classification systems. Students must have earned their career diploma in Medical Coding and Billing or completed a Medical Coding and Billing Certificate program before enrolling in this course. Your course includes: HIT 204 Medical Coding 2 The Medical Coding 2 course utilizes the application of the CPT and ICD-9-CM classification systems to code diagnoses and procedures. Study Guide: Medical Coding 2 Textbook: Clinical Coding Workout 2008 Computer specifications: You will need access to a Microsoft® Windows®-based computer to complete this program. Penn Foster recommends the following as minimum specifications: Pentium® II or better processor, using Microsoft® Windows® XP or later. You will also need to have access to the Internet, an email account, and Microsoft® Office 2007 to complete portions of this program.
