Course Description Course Description This course is for students who have studied the equivalent of two years of Arabic at high school. Students learn to talk about and discuss issues and challenges that relate to the lives of high school students. At the end of the course, students are able to express themselves on topics that go beyond daily life situations into social issues related to the world around them. ACTFL Speaking/Reading/Writing/Listening Scale: Novice High Learning Outcomes for the Course By the completion of Arabic Level 3, students will be able to: 1. Be able to read and understand simplified texts that relate to issues that are of interest to Arabs as manifested in pop songs and poetry. Be able to expand your speech beyond the self to discuss social issues that affect the people around us such as emotion, social problems, etc. 2. Comprehend simple to more complex songs that revolve around familiar topics; 3. Comprehend simple audio/video texts on familiar topics; 4.
