Course Description Interested in poetry, but don't really understand it? Tried writing it and really liked it? This course will deepen your understanding of American poetry, make you a better poet, and prepare you for studying this most enriching of art forms beyond the usual high school English class. In this course we will read, discuss, and write about American poetry after the Second World War, focusing largely on poets---avant-garde and formal---who are living and writing today. Course work will consist of readings in poetry and criticism, discussions, short written analytical responses, imitative poems, formal essays, and group presentations. Delivery Method Course Materials Virtual High School will have course materials, if any, shipped directly to students. While there is no additional cost for course materials, there is an additional charge for shipping. Students are required to return such course materials to course instructor upon completion of the course. |
