Course Description The focus of this course is the Science, Technology and Societal implications arising from nuclear physics. Students have an opportunity to explore, in depth, a topic that has played a major role in the science, technology, politics, philosophy, and everyday life of the past century. The student?s primary goal during the course is to answer the question: "What should an informed citizen know about nuclear issues?" The student has some flexibility choosing the areas they wish to concentrate on.
Delivery Method Prerequisites The student should have good math and writing skills and a basic understanding of atomic structure. It would also be helpful if the student has some experience with graphing calculators. Course Materials Virtual High School will have course materials, if any, shipped directly to students. While there is no additional cost for course materials, there is an additional charge for return shipping. Students are required to return such course materials to course instructor upon completion of the course. |
