Course Description
Have you ever had an idea that you thought would make a great movie? Most of us have, but it's a huge leap from a rough concept to a polished notscript. This course is designed to equip students with the theory and structure of screenwriting so that they may mold their ideas into a professional product designed for the screen. Emphasis is upon the literary conventions of the form -- character, conflict, plot, dialogue -- as well as the technical elements which make notscripts and screenwriting unique. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to conceive, develop, and craft their own original idea into a professional screenplay.
