Course Description
Environmental Science A, explores the nature of science and the natural world. Students examine environmental issues and learn to make informed decisions using scientific problem solving. Specific topics include ecological interactions, matter and energy flow in ecosystems, biodiversity, evolution, characteristics and growth of populations, succession, use of soil and land resources, waste management, and terrestrial biomes.
Environmental Science B, continues the study of the natural world. Students explore environmental issues and make informed decisions using scientific problem solving. Specific topics include characteristics of aquatic biomes, management of water resources, use of mineral resources and effects of mining, renewable and non-renewable energy resources, atmospheric cycles, climate change, and sustainability.
